Our Fire District

The O'Fallon Fire Protection District was organized in 1906 and has developed into a fire department consisting of 4 stations manned 24 hours a day, and one volunteer station serving the St. Paul area.

The Fire District has an Insurance (I.S.O.) Town Class 4 Rating in all areas having hydrants. It's highly motivated and dedicated staff of 54 paid employees, 75 Volunteer Fire Fighters and 20 Junior Fire Fighters serve a residential population of well over 50,000 persons in an area of 67 square miles. This area includes most of the city limits of O'Fallon, all of St. Paul, portions of Dardenne, Lake St. Louis and St. Peters, as well as several square miles of unincorporated St. Charles County. The O'Fallon Fire Protection District is the fastest growing fire district in Missouri according to state officials.

The Fire District is composed of three bureaus: Administration, Emergency Services and Fire Prevention. The Administrative Staff provides personnel coordination, payroll, budgeting, purchasing and record keeping. The Emergency Services Bureau provides all emergency functions, fire safety inspections of existing buildings, public relations and fire safety education activities within the communtiy. The Fire Prevention Bureau enforces the building and fire prevention codes by reviewing building plans, issuing permits and making site inspections of all new residential and commercial structures.

The fire apparatus utilized by the Emergency Services Bureau is comprised of 1 aerial ladder truck, 7 pumper engines, 3 brush fire trucks, 1 medium duty rescue truck and 6 staff vehicles. These units are housed at 5 fire stations distributed throughout the Fire District.

The O'Fallon Fire Protection District is considered to be a very progressive, innovative and proactive fire department and is considered a true "leader" in Missouri's Fire Services. Fire District personnel hold offices and serve on numerous committees of national, state and regional organizations.

Junior Fire Fighter Program

This is an elite group of teenage fire fighters trained to assist on the scene of fires. They help the fire fighters with ventilation, breathing apparatus, equipment supply, rehabilitation, water supply, salvage and overhaul, and more.
